The latest update of the Subtext app is now available on the app store! You’ll notice a lot of changes to the app in Subtext 3.5, most noticeably the “My Library” view and the “About Book” blade:
The new library view makes it easier to browse all of the content already in your library. To give your books and articles more space, we’ve removed the “Read”, “Assign”, and “Discuss” icons beneath the covers as well as the “Track Progress” and “Assignments” dashboards.
If you tap on any cover, you’ll access the new “About Book” blade, which includes all of these features as well as your discussions.
Messages are no longer a section of the “My Library” view and this leaves more space for your groups. Now, you can see if any of your groups have active assignments or submitted assignments that await your feedback directly from your main view of the app.
You can also still access your messages, of course. You’ll find them in the bottom right corner of the screen (the envelope icon). A few other changes to look out for:
• A streamlined Assignments flow
• An easier way to browse our collection of over 750 leveled articles
• The ability to edit your quizzes and polls after they’ve been published
If you’re not ready to try the new design, you can always switch back to the old interface by tapping “Settings” from the “My Library” view and unchecking the box next to “Use Latest Dashboard UI”.
Throughout the year, we received a lot of great input from our community about what worked well and what we should consider doing differently. All of these changes reflect this feedback and we think the app is better than ever. We hope you’ll agree!
